Dead fish…

Hello all. It looks like the cold weather took its toll on the fish in the lake. My wife and I spent yesterday pulling carcasses out and putting them into trash bags. Yuk!

My neighbor was talking to the City of La Joya and found out that there is a cleanup planned by the City and Irrigation District #6. I was also notified by our Board President that Irrigation District #6 was acquiring supplies for cleanup and will be in the water tomorrow, February 24, 2021.

I don’t know how completely the water district plans to cleanup. We may need to help by taking care of some of our waterfront ourselves.

Annual Meeting and Covid-19

Due to recent mandates for limiting the size of public gatherings amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we are postponing our annual meeting of members until further notice.

We would have preferred to hold our meeting in late March, however, seeing how the spread of the virus was affecting the world, we held off notifying members of the meeting to avoid notification of rescheduling. We apologize if a later meeting date causes you to miss the meeting, but we feel the safety of our members, and following recommended health procedures is more important.

Be assured, we will be sending out notification of the meeting when we are able to schedule it safely for all concerned. If you will not be able to attend, please be sure to complete and return the ballot materials that will be included. That will count you present at the meeting, and help us meet quorum to conduct business.

2019 Annual Meeting of Members

***Update*** The Annual Meeting of Homeowners was reconvened on August 24, 2019 at 12:00pm. A quorum was established by proxy, mail-in and present ballots. All items on the agenda passed, and board members were voted into office.

***Update*** We didn’t have a quorum of property owners represented at the meeting, so we were unable to conduct the meeting. We will have to re-convene the meeting. Be on the lookout for the invitation/proxy we will be mailing. If you can NOT attend, PLEASE mail in the proxy so you will be counted present.

The Annual Meeting of Member for Walker Lake Homeowners, Inc is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 am. We will be meeting in the clubhouse at 224 N Kika de la Garza Blvd.

Please attend and enjoy some lunch after we conduct our required business meeting for the year.

Invitations and voting ballots are being printed for mailing this week. Please keep an eye open for them. Agenda will be posted in the display case outside the office.

HOA Meeting 4-18-2019

The next meeting of the Walker Lake Homeowners board of directors is scheduled for 6:30pm, April 18th, in our clubhouse – 224 N Kika de la Garza Blvd.

We will be finalizing details for the annual meeting. Agenda is posted outside the clubhouse.
